Taste at the Top of the Town
Taste hit the spot in Basingstoke with over 3,000 people enjoying a Food Theatre with Hampshire’s finest Chefs, James Durrant (Great British Chef winner) Andy McKenzie from Winchesters’ Lainston House and Basingstoke‘s finest Thai chef from Lime Leaf as a prelude to Jean Christophe Novelli and his on-stage 'joie de vivre'. The objective was to get the Top of Town buzzing. There were plenty of opportunities for local Restaurants and Bars to get involved. They participated in cookery demonstrations, took part in an omelette challenge and provided discounted offers for our food trail.
Food in all its forms was the entertainment of the day as elsewhere The London Vegetable Orchestra and a Food Dye Fashion Show took place. Arts and Crafts activity with of course a food theme was available for families whilst the best of Hampshire producers were on show thanks to a partnership with Hampshire Fare.
